Holli Best

Holli is a DONA trained doula, with a background from the University of Missouri in Family Life Transitions and Child Development. She is also a preschool teacher, mother and birth educator caring for families since 2005.

In 2005 she was trained and certified through DONA International. She spent a few years working at a birth center with midwives and doctors who were very intentional about holistic family care during parenting transitions. She is currently certified through Commonsense Childbirth in Orlando, FL.

Holli has a background in trauma and loss and has walked alongside women during miscarriage and adoption choices. Being a resource to offer choices, options and companion care. While this can be difficult to navigate, having a loss trained doula to walk alongside your family during such a difficult time can allow grief to happen in a protected space.

Services: Birth Classes, Postpartum Consultations, Sibling Prep Classes, Home Birth Support, Hospital Birth Support, In Home Postpartum Care, Over-Night Care, Nursing Support, Infant Education.

Belle Chauviray Wolski

Hello! Bonjour! I am Belle. Enchantee! I am glad you are here. Birth is a rite of passage, a transformative experience forever imprinting your Matrescence. Following a century of highly medicalized childbirth, science reminds us that the safest path lies in respecting our bodies' innate abilities. Medical interventions ought to be utilized only when truly necessary.

My area of expertise is unmedicated births outside of hospital settings.

I help expecting mothers tap into their inner strength and resources, and cultivate a bonded family unit by embracing a natural, wholistic approach to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. Educating families on birthing at home has been my "Why" I embarked on my doula path while pregnant with my daughter. I am certified with CAPPA and I have been the keeper of families' sacred birth space for half a decade.

I was born and raised in the French countryside. Today, I live in our beautiful green sanctuary here in Gainesville with my partner and our two daughters. When I am not supporting mothers you will find me in my garden, outside, crafting with my daughters, baking sourdough bread, or sitting in a circle with my sisters.

Services offered:
Wholistic Birth Doula Care, Maternity Coaching, Breastfeeding Expertise, Postnatal Belly Binding Care, Support Groups

Julia Crawford

Hey there! My name is Julia Rainer! I am a labor doula certified through DONA International. I am a mother of three beautiful girls. When describing myself I always tell people I am a lover of love! Before I knew what a doula was, I was already acting as one by holding space for women journeying through their birthing experience. When someone told me “ Julia, you should be a doula!” I hit the ground running 5 years ago and have been in love with helping women hold and sometimes create that sacred space of birth ever since. The name of my business is Create Space because where I am come from, sometimes we don’t have a peaceful place within ourselves to feel safe and secure to bring our babies into. It must then be created, and this is what I have a true passion for. I am a labor doula, but I also dabble in birth photography, sibling classes and up and coming Childbirth Education!

Hailey Moses Streibich

Hailey Moses Striebich is a DONA International certified birth doula and the owner of Lighthouse Doula Services. When her first child was born, Hailey experienced a traumatic birth and postpartum experience. She went on to have a very different, redemptive birth experience with her second child, thanks in large part to the support of a doula (read more about her birth story here). This transformative experience inspired Hailey to become a doula herself, and she has been serving clients in Gainesville and surrounding areas since 2022.

Hailey is nurturing, compassionate, and intuitive, with a dash of humor and spice. She is a passionate advocate for birthing people and their families and provides non judgemental, loving support in the birth space. She believes in doula access for all birthing people who want one and is open, affirming, and inclusive. In her free time, you can find Hailey with her two vivacious little ones, Ike & Ruthie, romping through the swamps of North Florida.

I truly believe every mom deserves support. Birth is a perfect blend of tradition and evidence-based research. It's very important to have a tribe reassuring and comforting you towards your maternal goals. Birth is not the finish line but it isn't the beginning either. Starting from conception your body is already making sacrifices to house this baby. From the very beginning your parenting journey takes flight. It's important to me to be an aid in your goal as a pregnant person, as a birthing person, and as a person during your postpartum period. Happy birthing!

I am a certified doula with Madriella Doula and a Certified Midwife-Assistant through Black Sister’s Midwifery. I have been a doula for about 3 years although I have been helping moms with their journey before that. I got into birth work when I had an amazing pregnancy with my son. I wanted every mom to feel how I felt, which was educated and supported. I am a mother of 2 and both my children were born out of the hospital. I have supported moms with hospital births as well. I am married for almost 8 years and my husband adores the work Doulas do and decided to step in and be a shoulder for dads to lean on. We are both herbalist & Dancers I love everything about dance culture. I am a Haitian woman and glean a lot from my mom's experiences in Haiti.

Services Provided: Prenatal visits, Postnatal visits, Community resources, Nutritional education, Birth planning, Postpartum planning, Herbal tea and remedies, Placenta encapsulation, Vaginal steaming postpartum, Haitian Bain Traditional (Haitian postpartum care), Dad Birth mentorship with Dominique Revell

Krystle Seidel

I am a DONA-trained birth doula. I became a doula in 2016 after the traumatic birth of my fourth child. I wanted to support families during this significant and vulnerable time in their life. I feel that self-advocacy is essential and want to empower birthing people and their partners during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I have personally seen the impact that a great birth team can have, and I believe whole-heartedly in this vital work. I am committed to providing inclusive care to families in my community. I have experience with many different circumstances, such as surrogate pregnancies, single moms, c-sections, VBACs, sexual abuse survivors, families from other countries, clients on bed rest, families conceiving with ART and IVF, high risk, out of hospital births (including both home births and birth center births), induced and high medical technology labor & birth, waterbirth, postpartum mood disorders, and breastfeeding difficulties.

Alex Wooten

Alex is a DONA trained birth doula who has been attending births since 2016, and an active member of the Gainesville birth community since 2010. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from UF before finding her true passion. She discovered her calling through her own experiences with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Her goal is to ensure all birthing people feel heard and supported in their choices, no matter where or how they choose to birth.

Alex loves pregnancy and birth so much that she chose to carry a baby for another family as a gestational carrier, or surrogate, and is intimately familiar with IVF and fertility treatments. When she is not doing birth work, Alex is a happily married momma to 4 boys and enjoys spending time with her family outdoors.

Amy Vaknin

My name is Amy Vaknin. I am a mother of four, a counselor, an educator, a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a woman. My connection with my woman identity is strong, and as I go through life experiences, I realize just how much women need other women to support them through our life cycles.

I trained with DONA International in 2013 and have been practicing ever since then. I have a Masters/Specialist Degree School and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida. What I love about birth work is it gives me the opportunity to practice counseling in real time with real life experience. There is nothing better than to witness a woman learn to manage her anxiety/fears through her laboring process and be able to access her own internal warrior within. This is the true gift of birth work and I am humbled by it. Every. Single. Time.
